Privacy notice for healthcare professionals

Snappyhires is a recruiting platform used by staffing agencies and employers in the United States. To help recruiters find licensed professionals for genuine job openings, we keep a directory of U.S. healthcare professionals built from official public registries. You may be in it even though you never gave us your details. This notice explains what we hold, where it came from, what we do with it, and how to tell us to stop.
Where the information comes from
- The National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This is the public NPI registry; CMS releases it under the Freedom of Information Act and the NPPES Data Dissemination Notice.
- The U.S. Census Bureau’s public ZIP-code location files (to work out distances).
- Where a recruiter at one of our customers has contacted you, the details you gave them and their notes about that conversation.
What we hold
From the registry: your name and credentials, NPI number, profession and specialty (taxonomy code), the practice address and business telephone number you listed, the dates your record was created and last updated, and any licence numbers you furnished to NPPES. We also derive an approximate location from the ZIP code.
We deliberately do not collect sex or gender, date of birth, Social Security or tax identification numbers, mailing addresses, insurer-issued identifiers, or anything about you that is not in the public record. The registry contains no email addresses, so we have none unless you gave one to a recruiter.
What we use it for
- Letting recruiters search for professionals by profession, specialty and location for real vacancies.
- Confirming identity and credentials before a recruiter reaches out.
- Keeping the directory accurate by refreshing it from the registry every week.
We do not sell this information, use it for advertising, combine it with data from job boards, or make automated decisions about you. Recruiters may only contact you about professional opportunities. Any email they send identifies the sender and includes a working unsubscribe link. We never place automated calls or send text messages to you without your prior express consent.
Your choices and rights
Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Stop contacting you — applied across every customer on our platform, not just one.
- Delete your record — we erase your details and keep only a marker so the next registry update cannot re-add you.
- See what we hold about you.
- Correct registry information — that is done at NPPES (nppes.cms.hhs.gov) and flows to us automatically.
There is no charge, you do not need an account, and we will not treat you differently for asking. If you are in California, Texas, or another state with a consumer privacy law, these are the rights those laws give you; we honour them for everyone. We respond to opt-outs within 10 business days and to deletion or access requests within 45 days.
How long we keep it
Registry information is refreshed from NPPES and removed when CMS removes it. If you opt out or ask for deletion we keep only your NPI number and the fact that you asked, so we can keep honouring it.
